A Safe Workplace Means Quality of Life.

End of workday. All products manufactured and services offered with total quality, as a result of a peaceful and safe working routine.

Now, only the sense of the duty accomplished, willing to go home and join the family or be with friends.

In order to have this same story repeated day after day, Britanite invests heavily in the safety of its workers during the manufacturing process.


Training, psychological follow up, equipment and structures with a high level of reliability and technology, continuous assessment of work routines and task analysis. All this to ensure safety to its workers, a concern that is also extended to the community.

The life, physical integrity, welfare of the workers, their families and the community are permanent concerns of the Workplace Safety Department at Britanite which has a staff of experts in workplace safety.

Actions with the purpose of preventing injuries taken by the Workplace Safety Department have quality of life as the main purpose.



In order to accomplish the safety policy of Britanite, several actions are implemented by the Workplace Safety Department, among them "Safety Daily Inspections" monitoring the activities on site.


WORKPLACE SAFETY TRAINING AND INTEGRATION BRIEFING

All workers before starting their tasks on Britanite’s premises must attend a "Security Integration" briefing to clarify standards and safety rules to be deployed during the production process of the company.

Integration is only the first step towards safety. Workers receive constant training in workplace safety, so they are qualified to prevent injuries in places where the activities are carried out.


EMERGENCY CARE PLAN - ECP

Britanite Plant - Manufacturing Unit of Quatro Barras/ PR - has a plan for the Emergency Care - ECP, which is intended to address contingencies that might occur where operations take place.

The Emergency Care Plan is structured to serve all the production areas of Britanite, as well as to serve external emergencies involving their products.


EMERGENCY BRIGADE

Britanite has among its personnel, a team made up of workers trained periodically in fire fighting, covering not only the plant Unit of Quatro Barras -Pr but also the vegetation within the industrial area and vicinity.


QUALITY, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH DIALOGUE (QSEOHD)

Every day before starting the activities, workers of the production areas of Britanite participate in the Quality, Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health Dialogue (QSEOHD).

One of the purposes of the QSEOHD is to bring issues related to Safety and Health at Work, aiming to make workers think about the importance of conducting tasks in a secure manner, that is, preventing injuries while handling objects, materials and products, as well as the operation of machinery and equipment.

During the daily QSEOHD workers clarify doubts about the rules and safety standards, and share lessons on safety at work with their coworkers.


INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (IPE) AND COLLECTIVE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (CPE)

To carry out the various tasks Britanite provides equipment to its employees and implements individual protection equipment and devices for collective protection (CPE).

Workers are trained to use these equipments and get recycled regularly.

In many of the activities Britanite provides individual protection equipment with the latest technology to protect them against possible injuries.

These equipment – aluminized clothing – are used for mixing or blending pyrotechnic compositions, where the risk of explosions that generate high temperatures is intrinsic to the product itself.


INTERNAL COMMISSION FOR THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS (ICPA)

The Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents– ICPA– of IBQ, has an active involvement in assisting injuries prevention, working jointly with Workplace Safety Department trying to identify risk conditions in carrying out activities.

The workers who are part of ICPA were trained to recognize the different types of risks that may be present in jobs.

The "ICPA Team", in addition to being attentive to unsafe conditions that may arise in different areas of the company, is also an important support for security in relevant areas of work, as they assist their coworkers guiding them on a permanent basis regarding the precautions to be taken, in order to prevent injuries and occupational diseases.
