History 1961 - Britanite S/A - Indústrias Químicas was established in June 21st, being called: Fábrica de Explosivos Britanite Ltda.; 1968 - The company was acquired by C.R. Almeida Group, one of the biggest enterprise groups of the country; 1984 - Britanite firmed joint venture with Ireco Incorporated, the biggest explosive manufacturer of North America at that time, called as IBQ-Indústrias Químicas Ltda., with major participation of Britanite; 1986 – Due to the great expansion of its activities, Britanite acquired the explosive division of Dupont do Brasil; 1993 - C.R. Almeida Group acquired the societary part of Ireco Incorporated, starting to have the total shareholder control of IBQ-Indústrias Químicas; 1994 - It transferred its manufacture unit to Quatro Barras city - PR; 2003 – Investments intensification in technologies such as: Emulsions, Electronic Detonators, Application equipment of pumped emulsions (UMBs) and the development of chemical nitrogen products; 2006 - Britanite-IBQ Indústrias Químicas Ltda. commemorated 45 years of existence, when presented the new brand.
